CHAPTER OFFICERS for 2009/2010
President:   Frank Beckage

Vice President:    Tony Zeak
Tony is a Technical Training Instructor for REDE / CRITIQUE- Joint Venture on their Kennedy
Institutional Support Services (K.I.S.S.) contract for NASA at KSC. He provides occupational safety
and health training to all KSC NASA and contractor employees covered by the K.I.S.S. contract on a
wide variety of subjects. His most exciting training is when he gets to participate, even in a small
way, with the Shuttle Crew Emergency Egress training for the 195’ level at Pad 39-A. Tony is
relatively new to KSC having started in April of 2009 as the Project Safety Representative for Ivey’s
Construction, Inc. on their Constellation Program contract to build the Ares Mobile Launch Tower
and Launch Mount Structure. His eight months of “boots-on-the-ground-safety” experience with
Ivey’s, an AISC Certified Advanced Steel Erector, provided an excellent opportunity to refresh his
personal interaction and communication skills.
In 1977 Tony got his start in the nuclear power heavy construction industry as an ANSI N45.2.6
Level II Inspector.  All of the plants he worked in averaged one death per year and that experience
shaped his interest in occupational safety.  After 10 years in nuclear power plant construction and
modification of operational plants, Tony began his safety career in 1987 with the Florida Safety
Council as a National Safety Council Certified Instructor. When the Florida Safety Council
established their Occupational Safety Division in 1990 he took all of the required training to become
one of their first Occupational Safety Specialists providing training, on-site hazard assessments,
and safety program development and implementation for the public and private sector employers of
Brevard County.  As his scope of work grew he also assisted his clients with their compliance
issues regarding CFR Titles; 29, 30, 40, & 49, giving him a multi-jurisdictional foundation in safety.
